Back Pain and Post-Surgery Care
Back pain can range from a muscle ache to a shooting, burning or stabbing sensation. Pain may radiate down the leg or worsen with bending, twisting, lifting, standing or walking. Studies of patients receiving physical therapy after lumbar disc surgery show patients experiencing greatly reduced pain and improvement of spinal function.
Potential treatments include: patient specific modalities for pain relief, healing and increasing energy such as Class IV Laser, electrical stimulation, core and postural flexibility and strengthening for lumbar/thoracic areas and legs.
